To The Warrior: Thank You
On this Memorial Day weekend, I have been thinking a lot about the warrior. As a writer, I do not pretend to be one. However, I have the privilege of interviewing them, listening to them, learning from them, and hearing their stories. In all of my novels there is a common element: the warrior. I did not set out to get inside the heart and mind of fictional warriors. Nevertheless, it is what I love to do because the various mentalities of warriors fascinate me.

Magic in the Mayhem
For those of you who missed your letter to Hogwarts, don’t fret. I thought I was doomed to be a Muggle, too. If you have missed the wizardly reference altogether and need a dictionary, a Muggle is a mere mortal who lives in a world without knowing magic. Once upon a time, I didn’t believe in magic or at least not that it existed for me. I was too focused on completing the next task, working hard to achieve the next promotion, and wondering why I never felt fulfilled. In short, I was missing the magic!
